Have a beauty question that you would like me to answer? Message me your questions about skincare, makeup, and beauty. I'll feature your question and my best response in my Question of the Week segment! Today's question:
A. First things first- don't pop your blemishes! I know it can be so tempting to try and take matters into your own hands, however opening the blemishes can cause bad scarring and spread the bacteria in your blemishes.
I used to struggle with acne, and Mary Kay has wonderful products to banish blemishes and heal your skin.
First, make sure you cleanse and moisturize your skin twice per day, even if you have oily skin. Surprised? Think about it; if you are not moisturizing your skin, your skin will try to overcompensate for the lack of moisture, and produce even more oil!
Use a toner after cleansing to remove excess oil, and prevent blemishes. Then, use an acne gel that can banish blemishes and help your skin to heal. Moisturize your skin after using your toner and acne gel.
You can follow these steps day or night, just be sure your moisturizer contains sunscreen, or you use sunscreen in a separate step. This will keep the sun from darkening any scarring on your complexion.
I hope this was helpful! It's worked for me for 8 years now!
Love and beauty,
Chrystal
